In London, a strange and surprising phenomenon has been observed in recent months: stolen Android phones are being returned to their owners by the thieves. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The London Centric publication analyzed several incidents and reported on this. The most interesting part is that this "kindness" applies only to Android devices.
Regarding iPhone phones, it is said that thieves do not show such "fairness" towards them. The reason is that iPhone devices are sold at higher prices on the black market and have higher demand, making them more attractive to thieves.
One of the incidents mentioned in the source is as follows: a thief riding an electric bicycle tries to snatch a Samsung Galaxy phone from a person’s hand. However, upon realizing the phone is Android, he throws it to the ground and flees the scene.
This model seems not worth his "effort." Another incident went like this: the thief initially acts friendly towards a passenger, but upon learning that they use an Android phone, he leaves without taking anything and goes back.
In a third case, a group of eight people attacked a citizen and took his belongings. However, one of the group members returned the Samsung phone to the victim and silently left the scene.
Experts believe that such cases are related to black market demand. While iPhone devices are valuable to thieves due to their high price and quick saleability, Android phones are relatively cheap and sometimes considered uninteresting.
In conclusion, such a situation is emerging in London: if your phone is Android, the chances of getting it back are higher. But iPhone owners rarely experience such luck.
