The European Union (EU) countries recently strongly opposed a new plan proposed by the United States to resolve the Ukraine conflict. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Reuters news agency, the document proposed by the US demands the cession of some Ukrainian territories and partial disarmament. This is an unacceptable condition for the EU.
During discussions among EU foreign ministers on this issue, it was emphasized that Ukraine should not agree to forced concessions. In their opinion, such demands are not only incorrect but could also exacerbate the conflict.
Brussels' position is clear: Ukraine's interests must be prioritized in the peace process. US activity in this regard is observed at a time when corruption-related problems have intensified within Ukraine.
According to some observers, this situation is being used as a pressure tool by certain forces. The US's new proposals are raising serious questions not only in Europe but also within Ukraine.
According to Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, there are no new agreements regarding the Ukraine conflict. He emphasized that only verbal agreements between Putin and Trump exist.
This indicates a lack of consensus on the US's new initiatives. In conclusion, the European Union has established its firm position on Ukraine.
In their view, any plan based on pressure and territorial concessions cannot be accepted. Peace negotiations must be conducted only with the consent of both parties and taking into account Ukraine's interests.
