Reports about the peace plan proposed by America to stop the war in Ukraine are causing a great stir in the international political arena today. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to some sources, Washington and Moscow discussed Ukraine's fate in secret negotiations. These reports attracted even more attention following the cancellation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's planned visit to Turkey.
It is known that the peace concept developed by Donald Trump was supposed to be discussed in these negotiations. However, Zelensky went to Turkey to defend Ukraine's position developed together with Europe.
The document prepared by the US and Russia proposed unacceptable conditions for Ukraine. These include transferring the Donbass region to Russia, reducing the Ukrainian army, renouncing certain weapons, and granting the Russian language state status.
The Ukrainian government firmly rejected this plan, emphasizing that peace should only be achieved based on conditions agreed upon with international partners that ensure long-term security. In his statement on this matter, Zelensky expressed his firm stance on protecting Ukraine's interests.
At the same time, a US military delegation visited Kyiv. Ukrainian media speculated that the delegation might try to persuade Zelensky regarding this plan.
However, after the meeting, the Ukrainian government announced that there was no question of surrender and that work was ongoing on the terms of an agreement to end the war justly. Leading Ukrainian politicians regard this document as a repetition of Russia's previous demands.
Some experts consider this an information pressure aimed at testing the readiness level of Ukrainian society. At the same time, this process is seen not as real negotiations yet, but as an initial step to pave the way for negotiations.
It is emphasized that such a plan cannot be successful without European participation.
