French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans to introduce a voluntary military service system in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The project will be implemented gradually and will officially launch in the summer of 2026. Under the new system, citizens who volunteer for service will undergo military training for 10 months.
They will be paid for their work. According to President Macron, those involved in this service will not be sent to the areas of military operations in Ukraine.
In the initial phase, it is planned to recruit 2,000–3,000 citizens for service. In the future, this number is expected to be gradually increased to up to 50,000 per year.
This system is expected to expand opportunities for young people to serve their country and fulfill their civic duties.
