Starting from December 1, the price of entry visas in Egypt has been increased. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Now the visa price has risen from 25 dollars to 45 dollars. This decision was approved by the country's president, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
This change was met with dissatisfaction by representatives of the tourism sector. The Federation of Egyptian Tourism Chambers appealed to the government, requesting a reconsideration of the decision to raise visa prices.
The federation expressed concerns that the country might lose its competitiveness for foreign tourists and that the flow of tourists could decrease. According to statistical data, approximately 15.7 million foreign visitors traveled to Egypt in 2024.
In the first quarter of 2025, more than 16,700 Uzbeks visited Egypt. This figure has doubled compared to previous periods.
Therefore, representatives of the tourism sector emphasize that this decision may negatively impact the country's economy.
