Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and former US President Donald Trump are holding a meeting in Florida to discuss a plan to end the war in Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This meeting is being organized within the framework of peace efforts mediated by the United States. Although the parties have come closer on some issues, significant disagreements still remain.
On the eve of the meeting, Russia launched attacks on Ukraine, particularly Kyiv and other regions, using missiles and drones. As a result of these attacks, electricity and heating supplies were cut off in some parts of the capital, and there are reports of casualties and injuries.
Zelenskiy described these attacks as pressure on the peace negotiations. During the talks, Zelenskiy plans to discuss the future of the Donbas region, the safety of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, and territorial issues.
The peace plan proposed by the United States also raises the issue of Ukrainian forces withdrawing from certain territories. Ukraine is trying to soften these demands.
Meanwhile, Europe and Canada continue to support Ukraine. The Canadian Prime Minister condemned Russia's recent attacks and announced additional financial aid to Ukraine.
European leaders emphasize the need for strong security guarantees for Ukraine to achieve a just and long-lasting peace.
