Emergency declared in the US due to heavy snow

Specifically, a state of emergency has been declared in the states of New York and New Jersey to ensure the safety of the population. Officials advised citizens to be cautious and avoid going outside unless necessary.

According to weather service data, snow cover in some areas reached 15–25 centimeters. In New York City, a large amount of snow fell overnight, making roads and sidewalks slippery.

Although the heavy snowfall has stopped, weather conditions remain dangerous. Due to the adverse weather, thousands of flights were canceled or delayed.

Significant problems were observed especially at major airports near New York. Some airlines offered passengers the option to change tickets without penalties.

Additionally, traffic on some roads was temporarily restricted. Officials are asking drivers to be careful and to travel only when necessary.

Weather conditions are gradually improving, but citizens are still being urged to remain vigilant.
