During a raid conducted on a suspected house in Yalova, Turkey, three police officers and six militants were killed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the operation, eight police officers and one security personnel were injured. It was reported that all the militants who died were Turkish citizens.
Five women and six children were found alive in the house where the operation took place. Over the past months, 138 suspects have been detained across the country as part of the fight against terrorism, and 108 locations have been inspected.
The operation in Yalova lasted several hours, and smoke and fire were seen near the house during the raid. The police took full control of the area.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed condolences to the families of the fallen police officers and emphasized that the fight against groups posing a threat will continue. It was noted that such operations have increased recently because extremist groups have started to become active again.
Attacks that occurred between 2015 and 2017 posed a serious threat in Turkey. During that period, Turkey became a route for militants due to the Syrian war.
Currently, security measures have been strengthened, and the fight against terrorism continues in the country.
