Person who distributed fake images in Ankara was detained by court order

In the Turkish city of Ankara, 53-year-old citizen Mehmet Chakmak was apprehended by law enforcement authorities for distributing fake images created with artificial intelligence technologies via social networks. One.uz reports this.

He prepared images showing himself posing with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, and posted them in the status section of the WhatsApp messenger. As a result of investigative actions conducted regarding this situation, the suspect was detained by court order.

According to investigation findings, Mehmet Chakmak attempted to portray himself as a person in close contact with high-ranking government officials through these fake images. It is stated that his primary goal was to artificially increase his reputation and mislead people.

During investigations, it was revealed that this individual had previously been convicted of various crimes on four occasions.
