Bork supported Greenland's independence from Denmark

The famous Icelandic singer Bork announced his support for Greenland's desire to become independent from Denmark. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On his social media page, he wished the Greenlanders success on the path to independence and emphasized that Iceland remembers with fondness its own separation from Denmark in 1944. According to Bork, at that time Iceland preserved its language; otherwise, today its children would be speaking Danish.
This was reported by various sources, including kursiv.uz. The singer drew attention to the ongoing discrimination against the local population in Greenland.
He stressed that the Danish government continues to treat this issue unfairly. Referring to The Guardian, Bork recalled incidents in the 1960s and 1970s when intrauterine devices were inserted into Greenlandic girls without their consent.
It was also noted that even today, children of the local population are being separated from their families by state authorities. Bork touched upon the topic of colonialism, saying that this issue evokes strong fear and hatred in him.
He emphasized that the mere possibility of Greenlanders moving "from one cruel colonizer to another" is terrifying. This statement came at a time when debates about Greenland's future have intensified.
In particular, the US attempts to establish control over Greenland make this issue even more urgent.
