Boat accident in Phuket: three Uzbeks injured

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has issued an official statement regarding the boat accident that occurred on Phuket Island, Thailand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident took place on January 11. A speedboat collided with a fishing vessel while traveling from Phuket to Phi Phi Island.
On board the boat were tourists from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. According to information, there were three Uzbek citizens on the boat.
As a result of the collision, two Uzbeks sustained minor injuries and were admitted to a local hospital. Later, they fully recovered and were discharged.
Medical and other necessary expenses were fully covered by the insurance of the company owning the boat. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Bangkok maintained constant contact with local law enforcement agencies and medical institutions regarding the incident.
According to official information, all necessary assistance was provided promptly. Additionally, the Russian Consulate General in Phuket reported that an 18-year-old Russian citizen died as a result of the incident and 23 other Russians sustained injuries of varying degrees.
Although the incident was serious, it has been confirmed that Uzbek citizens received timely assistance and have recovered.
