19-year-old Barron Trump answered the victim's video call and saw that her 22-year-old ex-boyfriend, Maksim Rumyantsev, was assaulting the girl. He immediately called the UK's 999 emergency service, classified the situation as an emergency, and provided the location.

At the trial, body camera footage from police officers present at the scene was also reviewed. In these recordings, one officer was heard telling a colleague, "The caller is from America, possibly Donald Trump's son."
