Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni sparked discussions among internet users after falling asleep during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games held in Spain. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The ceremony took place at the “San-Siro” stadium in Milan and was broadcast live on Italy's Rai1 channel. During this time, the moment when the Prime Minister fell asleep was captured by cameras.

According to observers, Giorgia Meloni appeared passive and showed signs of fatigue during the event, at one point leaning on the armrest and closing her eyes. This incident quickly spread on social media, prompting various opinions and comments.

Some users considered this disrespectful, while others took it humorously. So far, neither the Prime Minister herself nor the Italian government has issued an official statement regarding the incident.

Additionally, recent reports circulated about a fresco of an angel in the San-Lorenzo-in-Luchina church in Italy resembling Giorgia Meloni. Officials have stated that this resemblance is purely coincidental.
