A woman was found guilty of killing her husband in Jezkazgan

A woman in the city of Jezkazgan was sentenced to 9 years in prison by the court for intentionally killing her husband. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The official source of the courts of Ulitayu region announced this. According to the court case materials, in August 2025, the woman and her husband got into an argument while intoxicated.

During the conflict, the woman struck her husband in the chest with a kitchen knife. The victim died at the scene due to the injuries sustained.

During the trial, the woman's guilt was fully proven by witness testimonies, expert conclusions, and other evidence. The prosecutor requested the court to sentence the woman to 12 years in prison.

The defendant fully admitted her guilt, acknowledged her actions, expressed remorse, and asked for forgiveness from the victim's relatives. According to Article 99, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, murder is classified as a serious crime and carries a sentence of 8 to 15 years imprisonment.

The court took into account the woman's confession and remorse as mitigating circumstances and sentenced her to 9 years in prison.
