Gold bars found in waste dumped in Italy

In the town of Torre-Lapillo, located in the province of Lecce, Italy, a 57-year-old man accidentally threw away a container holding 20 gold bars into the trash bin. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The RMF24 radio station reported on this incident. The individual had invested in precious metals over several years, accumulating gold bars with a total value of 120,000 euros.
However, he realized only a day later that he had mistakenly disposed of the container holding the gold along with ordinary household waste. Upon understanding the situation, he immediately contacted the police.
As a result of investigations conducted by law enforcement agencies, it was found that the waste had been taken to a special landfill in the city of Ugento. The police conducted a search at the landfill and, thanks to great luck, managed to find the container holding the gold bars.
This incident clearly demonstrates how carelessness can lead to financial losses. Fortunately, this time the event ended positively — the investment was fully returned to its owner.
