A man in Italy threw 120 thousand euros worth of gold into the trash
An interesting incident occurred in Italy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A 57-year-old man living in the city of Torre Lapillo accidentally lost the fortune he had been collecting for years. He later realized that he had thrown away 20 gold bars along with the trash.
It turned out that the gold bars, valued at approximately 120 thousand euros, were kept in a tin box. While disposing of the household waste, the man unknowingly included this box with the trash.
The most unfortunate part is that he only realized this mistake the next day. Upon learning about the incident, the man immediately contacted the police.
Initially, law enforcement officers did not believe the story. However, after reviewing surveillance camera footage, they confirmed that the incident was true.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the trash had already been taken to the landfill in the city of Ugento. The police conducted a search there and managed to find the box containing the gold bars.
Such incidents also occur in other places. For example, a similar event happened recently in Thailand.
In November 2025, a woman threw away three gold bars worth 62 thousand dollars as trash. The reason was explained as the woman suffering from dementia.
The woman's son promised a reward to those who found the bars. Incidents like these remind people once again to be vigilant about their property.
