Explosion in Kazakhstan: 7 dead, 19 injured

An explosion followed by a fire at the “Osh Center” dining facility located in Shchuchinsk city, Burabay district, Aqmola region of Kazakhstan resulted in severe consequences. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to initial information, at least six people died and approximately 20 were injured as a result of the incident. Later, Kazakhstan’s Kazinform news agency reported that the death toll had risen to seven, with 19 people injured.
The tragedy occurred during the night. Rescue services promptly arrived at the scene.
Firefighters managed to remove eight gas cylinders from the building engulfed in flames. Additionally, more than ten people were rescued from the hazardous area.
These swift actions played a crucial role in preventing the fire from spreading further. According to official information, the fire was completely extinguished at 22:40 Moscow time.
The exact causes of the explosion and fire are currently under investigation. It has been announced that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
Emergency service personnel, local government representatives, doctors, and gas-technical control officials are working at the site. They are engaged in clearing the debris, assisting the victims, and determining the causes of the incident.
