WEF president resigned: reason "Epstein case"

The president of the World Economic Forum (WEF), held in Davos, has resigned from his position. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The news agency "Reuters" reported this. According to the information, the decision to resign was made following the situation related to the "Epstein case".
WEF president Borge Brende emphasized in his speech that his activities at the forum were effective and successful. However, he did not comment on matters related to the "Epstein case".
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Brende has been leading the World Economic Forum since 2017. During this period, information has emerged that he participated in business meetings with Jeffrey Epstein several times and that they communicated via email.
Due to this situation, the World Economic Forum leadership announced the initiation of an independent investigation into Brende's connections with Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein was accused of serious crimes such as sexual exploitation of minors.
He died in prison in 2019, which investigators ruled as a suicide. Additionally, on January 30, the U.S. Department of Justice released more than 3 million documents related to the Epstein case.
In total, over 3.5 million materials related to this case have been disclosed.
