During the first meeting of the dialogue between Central and South Asian countries on the topic "Building a Common Space of Peace, Friendship, and Prosperity" held in the city of Termez, Roza Otunbayeva, head of the UN mission to assist Afghanistan, made a very important proposal. She emphasized that integrating Afghanistan into the collective security system of Central Asian countries is essential for ensuring regional stability and development.
"As long as the security issue is not resolved, investments will not come"
According to Otunbayeva, no investment environment or projects will be implemented in the region if security issues are not addressed. She highlighted that by integrating Afghanistan into a unified security system with Central Asian countries, it is possible to strengthen not only internal stability but also regional trust.
"Neighboring security forces have not met yet"
At this meeting, Roza Otunbayeva also drew attention to another problem — there is a lack of active cooperation between the security forces of Afghanistan and neighboring countries. She stated, "We always talk about counter-terrorism groups, but they have never seen each other." In her opinion, regular meetings and information exchange between security agencies are crucial for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
From the editorial office of Zamin.uz:
The proposal to integrate Afghanistan into the regional security system is considered relevant not only from a practical but also from a strategic point of view. This approach could enhance the overall security potential in the region, strengthen the atmosphere of trust, and create a stable environment for investors. What do you think about this? How will the integration of Afghanistan affect the future of the region?
