A record number of climbers gathered at the summit of Everest in one day

The next astonishing result was recorded on Everest, considered the highest point on Earth. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In a single day, a total of 274 mountaineers conquered this summit, setting a new unique record. According to international news agencies, this figure is recognized as the highest number of successful ascents in one day in Everest's history.
Responsible officials from the Nepal Expedition Operators Association explained the reasons behind this record. As reported, the unexpectedly favorable and clear weather conditions on the mountain summit created a great opportunity for climbers.
Athletes and tourists did not miss the chance and successfully reached the high point. It is worth noting that the previous record was set in 2019, when 223 people reached the summit in one day.
This year, the Nepalese government issued 494 official permits to foreigners wishing to climb Everest. The fee for each permit amounts to $15,000.
This is considered one of the important sources of income for the country's economy and tourism sector. This year's mountaineering season started slightly later than usual due to heavy snowfall and the high risk of avalanches in the mountain regions.
Nevertheless, specialists are confident that by the end of the season, hundreds more people will reach the summit located at 8,848 meters above sea level. Currently, many groups are waiting in the camps around Everest for the next favorable weather conditions.
