Sixteen children held captive for four years in the USA were rescued

A horrific incident occurred in the village of Hamden, Ohio, USA. Zamin.uz reported on this.
During a special operation conducted by law enforcement officers, 16 children kept in extremely harsh conditions that did not meet sanitary requirements were rescued. It was revealed that the youngest child was only one and a half years old, and the oldest was 18.
According to official information, these children were locked in a small room of only 12 square meters for nearly four years. The inside of the house was filled with trash, and the living conditions were unbearably miserable.
Investigations revealed that most of the children were completely cut off from the outside world. Some of them do not even know how to speak.
For example, it was found that an 18-year-old girl with developmental disabilities does not even know how to write her own name. The children had never attended school and received no education.
In connection with this case, 16 criminal cases were initiated against the children's parents, as well as their grandfather and grandmother, on charges of child endangerment. Prosecutors emphasized that this incident is not related to human trafficking, but is rather the result of tragic domestic violence and neglect.
The children were found by chance while law enforcement agencies were conducting a search of the house regarding another criminal case. Although no cages were found in the house, specialists are currently studying how the children's exit from the room was restricted.
Seven of the victimized children were immediately hospitalized. Two others, whose conditions were critical, were transported to a trauma center by a special helicopter.
Currently, one of them remains under medical supervision, connected to a ventilator. According to investigation data, this family moved frequently to various areas of the state for twenty years.
In this way, they managed to hide the children from the oversight of government agencies and social services. At present, all the rescued children have been taken into state custody and are receiving necessary medical and psychological assistance.
This incident has caused a great resonance among the local community.
