A terrorist attack against a military serviceman in Moscow has been thwarted

The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) reported that a planned terrorist act targeting a senior official of the Ministry of Defense in Moscow had been thwarted. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the operation, a woman, a Russian citizen born in 2001, was detained. According to special services, this individual had been engaged in covert cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence agencies.
According to available information, the woman was recruited via social networks in early 2024 to engage in clandestine cooperation. She was tasked with gathering information about key facilities in Moscow and St. Petersburg, monitoring the residence of a specific military serviceman, and tracking the vehicle he uses.
All collected information was regularly transmitted to her coordinator in Ukraine. FSB officials stated that the woman had prepared a special rental apartment for the person who was to directly carry out the terrorist act.
An interesting aspect of the case is that the Ukrainian coordinator used the pretense of a romantic relationship to manipulate and pressure the woman into compliance. He presented himself as someone with deep feelings for her and promised a future together.
Currently, investigative actions are being conducted by Russian law enforcement agencies regarding this incident. A criminal case has been opened against the detained individual under relevant legal provisions, and all details are being clarified.
This incident has prompted an intensification of security measures in the capital. Authorities are urging citizens to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious activity.
