Elon Musk lifted the condition that Starlink must not be used for military purposes

Elon Musk has once again waived the condition of using the Starlink system solely for civilian purposes. One.uz reports on this.
The billionaire emphasized that using the system for direct offensive military strikes could turn it into a legitimate military target, potentially leading to the destruction of satellites in orbit. This situation poses the risk of triggering a space debris catastrophe known as Kessler syndrome, making outer space unusable for all of humanity.
Ukraine side's breached restrictions The head of SpaceX confirmed that the Starlink system was used by Ukrainian Armed Forces to conduct offensive strikes via unmanned aerial vehicles. For this reason, the relevant "loophole" in the system was closed through a software path.
Mask stated that while the system can be used for communication and command purposes as general military infrastructure, it must not serve as a direct offensive weapon. A threat to global security Mask noted on the social media platform X that the basis for the decision is a matter of global security.
If Starlink serves as an offensive weapon, it becomes a legitimate target for the opposing side, inviting retaliatory strikes. Striking satellites in orbit creates a massive amount of space debris.
These chain reactions could completely block the Earth's orbit, limiting the ability of all nations to access outer space. To prevent exactly this catastrophic scenario, strict restrictions are being imposed on the use of the system as an offensive weapon.
