A bridge collapses in South Korea – there are victims and injured

In South Korea, three people died and five were injured as a result of a bridge collapse during construction work on a high-speed highway. This was reported by the Yonhap agency.
Details of the incident
The tragedy occurred on February 25 at 09:49 local time on a section of the Seoul-Sejong highway. At the time of the incident, workers were moving a steel structure between columns with the help of a crane.
At the time of the collapse, there were eight workers under the bridge. Three of them died, and five injured were taken to the hospital.
Rescue operations and official reactions
The South Korean National Fire Agency mobilized firefighters for search and rescue operations due to the possibility of missing persons.
Additionally, the acting president of the country, Choi Sang-mok, issued an urgent order to mobilize all resources and personnel for rescue operations at the scene.
Currently, the causes of the incident are being investigated, and the South Korean government plans to strengthen safety measures to prevent the recurrence of this tragedy
