The United States sells "golden cards" to wealthy foreigners, which grant the right to live and work in the United States and pave the way to American citizenship. This was announced by the country's president, Donald Trump, during a conversation with journalists in the Oval Office on February 25, Tuesday he stated. He emphasized that the price of a "golden card" is approximately 5 million US dollars.
“We want to sell the golden card,” CNN quotes the president's words on its website. “You have a green card. This is a golden card. We estimate this card to be worth about 5 million dollars, and it gives you the benefits of a green card, plus it makes it easier to obtain citizenship. Wealthy people will come to our country and buy this card.”
The "golden card" replaces EB-5 immigration visas
According to US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, the golden card replaces the government's EB-5 immigration visa program.
According to Trump, the sale of golden cards could begin within two weeks. He expects millions of cards to be sold. “From a legal standpoint, this is completely legal,” said the US president.
In response to the question, “Are you ready to sell golden cards to Russian oligarchs?” Donald Trump replied, “Yes, maybe. I know some Russian oligarchs who are very good people.”
