The US has decided to stop military aid to Ukraine. This was announced by White House Press Secretary Karoline Levitt. According to her, Washington will cease to provide financial and military assistance to Ukraine starting now and will prioritize peace negotiations.
"We are no longer prepared to allocate unlimited financial resources for a war in a distant country from the US. The most important issue now is to create a real and solid foundation for peace," Levitt said.
Meeting between Zelensky and Trump: intense debates
On February 28, US President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. According to sources, the negotiations in the Oval Office took place in a tense atmosphere.
During the meeting, Zelensky emphasized that Kyiv is not ready to cease fire and is demanding security guarantees from the US.
Trump sharply responded to these demands, stating that "America does not need to take instructions from Kyiv on how to conduct itself." He also noted that Ukraine must make compromises on the path to peace and made it clear that if Kyiv refuses the agreement, Washington will not participate in such a process.
This event is further evidence of a significant shift in the US's policy towards Ukraine, and time will show the direction of Washington's relations with Kyiv in the future.
