A new skin disease — a pink ringworm epidemic is spreading in Thailand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The country's health department announced that this viral disease could spread rapidly. Especially during the rainy season, the likelihood of this disease affecting more people is high.
Pink ringworm usually starts with a large, clearly visible spot. This spot is called the "mother spot" and often appears on the back, arms, or abdomen.
Later, small, oval or round salmon-colored rashes appear on other parts of the body. Their color changes from light brown to reddish.
The disease is more common in children and young people. For pregnant women, this disease poses a serious risk, as it can lead to miscarriage in severe cases.
Patients experience not only skin changes but also headaches, fever, muscle and joint pain, as well as sometimes internal pain and difficulty swallowing. Health specialists recommend consulting a doctor when the following symptoms appear: elevated body temperature, rashes and spots, cough, runny nose, sore throat, muscle and joint pain, diarrhea, and general deterioration of condition.
It is especially important to pay attention if these symptoms arise after a tourist trip. As specialists emphasize, it is crucial to maintain personal hygiene during any travel, be cautious of factors that may harm skin health, and undergo a dermatological examination to timely identify symptoms of the disease.
These measures play an important role in health care and help prevent the disease
