Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump held an unscheduled closed-door meeting on Tuesday. The conversation lasted about an hour and journalists were not allowed in.

Many experts interpret this situation as a new obstacle in the negotiations. According to sources, before the meeting between Trump and Netanyahu, a Qatari delegation had communicated with senior US officials at the White House.

One of the main topics of the conversation was the release of hostages in Gaza and the issues of weakening Hamas's military and political power. According to Trump, they dedicated almost the entire negotiation to the Gaza issue, and both leaders were determined to resolve this problem.

At the same time, officials emphasized that the lack of information about the results of the meeting, the confidentiality of the negotiations, and the short duration of the meeting made it difficult to fully understand the situation. Trump stated, "We need to resolve this issue.

The Gaza situation is a tragedy. Netanyahu also wants to resolve this issue, and I do too.

He also pointed out that the secretive nature of the meeting, the lack of clear statements about the details, and the short duration of the meeting could indicate the emergence of new obstacles. American special envoy Steve Witkoff recently mentioned that an agreement on a 60-day ceasefire might be achievable.

Additionally, it is expected that 10 hostages will be returned alive and 9 bodies will be handed over. However, there is still no solution regarding how far the Israeli defense forces should withdraw from Gaza.

Hamas is demanding a return to the situation of last March, while Israel is not agreeing to this. In this context, Netanyahu emphasized in a conversation with US House Speaker Mike Johnson, "Our work in Gaza is not finished yet; it is necessary to fully neutralize Hamas."

Israeli media reports that Netanyahu has been under serious pressure from Trump to reach an agreement regarding Gaza. Furthermore, there are also reports that the delay in Witkoff's trip to Doha may have caused changes in his position.
