A change of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense is expected in Ukraine

According to President Vladimir Zelensky, the current Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal will resign and be appointed as the Minister of Defense of the country. While explaining this decision, Zelensky emphasized that Shmyhal's extensive political experience will help him work effectively in the defense sector.

As Minister of Defense, he will manage all the resources and responsibilities of the country. It is also expected that Shmyhal's position as Prime Minister will be taken over by his First Deputy Yulia Svyrydenko.

If confirmed, she will go down in history as one of the first women to serve as Prime Minister in Ukraine. At the same time, the current Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov is planned to be appointed as the ambassador to the United States.
