Zelensky announced his readiness to resume negotiations with Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced his readiness to return to the negotiating table with Donald Trump and promote his plan to cease fire in Ukraine. He made this statement on March 4 via the social media platform X (Twitter).
Zelensky: "I am ready to work under Trump's leadership"
The Ukrainian leader emphasized the need to expedite the start of peace negotiations, stating:
"Ukraine is ready to sit at the negotiating table to achieve stable peace. No one desires peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I are ready to work towards achieving strong peace under Trump's strong leadership."
Zelensky noted that several issues need to be discussed to reach an agreement to end the war:
? Prohibiting the use of missiles and long-range drones.
? Taking measures for the release of prisoners.
? Discussing security guarantees to ensure peace.
Zelensky acknowledged that the negotiations did not go "as expected"
Zelensky expressed gratitude to the U.S. and Trump for their support to Ukraine, acknowledging that the meeting held at the White House on February 28 "did not go as expected."
"Unfortunately, that was the case. Now it is time to fix everything. We want future cooperation and dialogue to be constructive."
These remarks by Zelensky may be related to the tensions that arose between Trump and the Ukrainian president during the negotiations in Washington.
Ukraine is ready to sign security and economic agreements
The Ukrainian president also announced his readiness to discuss agreements regarding security and underground resources with the Trump administration.
"Ukraine is ready to sign this agreement at any time and in any convenient format. We consider this a step towards strengthening security and reliable guarantees."
Zelensky expressed hope for the effective implementation of this agreement and emphasized the strategic importance of Ukraine-U.S. cooperation.
