The skies over the Middle East are once again under threat. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Israeli army has launched new strikes on the center of Damascus. This situation has raised concerns within the US administration, which has called for a halt to military actions.
According to Axios.com, on July 16, the Trump administration contacted the Israeli government, recommending that it cease air strikes against Syria and establish direct communication with Damascus. Journalist Barak Ravid announced this information on his social media page.
According to him, this demand was made either before or after the latest strikes carried out by Israel, but there is no precise information. Currently, the situation in the region has escalated significantly.
On July 15, the Israeli army attacked armored vehicles in Syria, and on July 16, the strikes intensified further. Military facilities near the Syrian Armed Forces General Staff building and the presidential palace were targeted.
At the same time, in the As-Suwayda province, the Syrian government forces and the Druze community's defense have been strengthened. Israeli officials describe these military strikes as aimed specifically at neutralizing this defense.
This situation is causing serious concern in Washington. In a statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, it was emphasized that the American side is actively engaging in diplomatic communication with the parties to the conflict.
In his opinion, the situation could spiral out of control, and establishing direct communication between the two states is the most reasonable solution. Analysts believe that if military clashes continue, there is a high probability of a new conflict erupting throughout the region.
Because each new attack negatively impacts not only the two states but also the relations between their international allies. In the coming days, diplomatic activity in the region is increasing.
Diplomats from the United Nations and the European Union have also expressed their readiness for personal communications to resolve the conflict. For this reason, every strike in the Middle East is changing not only military but also geopolitical balances.
Now all attention is focused on Israel's next actions and the level of diplomatic pressure from Washington.
