It is planned to extend the validity period of the conformity certificate for imported cars in Uzbekistan from three years to five years. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This measure is aimed at reducing long queues at the technical inspection point in Pskent. The issue was discussed at the interdepartmental commission meeting on cooperation with the World Trade Organization.
According to the results of the meeting, starting from November 1, 2025, the number of indicators to be checked for cars will be reduced from 62 to 14. In addition, from September 2, 2023, some tests for cars imported for personal use were canceled.
Also, the laboratory at the Pskent polygon is planned to operate 24 hours a day, and the possibility of online registration for inspection will be created. Private companies will be allowed to open car inspection centers.
Technical regulations will be updated by October 1, 2025. These changes are being implemented in response to the significant growth of the automobile market in Uzbekistan.
In recent months, the number of official dealers has increased from 3 to 21, and the number of car models allowed for import has reached 101 from 15. In the first half of 2025, more than 2,700 foreign cars were imported compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
