Starting from September 3, 2023, an important department for vehicle registration and re-registration has resumed its activities in the capital. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This department is the registration division of the Road Traffic Safety Directorate, widely known among the general public as the “Sobir Rahimov” department. The department is located at 118a Bunyodkor Street, near the “Olmazar” metro station.
From now on, residents of Chilonzor and Uchtepa districts will be able to carry out vehicle registration and re-registration processes conveniently and nearby. The resumption of the department’s activities will not only facilitate obtaining government services for car owners but also help reduce the workload at other registration and examination points within the city.
The repair and reconstruction works carried out were aimed at modernizing the infrastructure and improving the conditions for receiving citizens. The opening of the renovated department will help increase service efficiency, which is part of the program to improve government services in the country.
The reopening of the “Sobir Rahimov” department is an important event for car owners in two major districts of Tashkent. It allows them to save time and resources that would otherwise be spent traveling to more distant registration points.
The city administration expects this step to have a positive impact on the overall situation in the transport sector and on citizens’ satisfaction with services. In recent years, digital technologies have been widely implemented in the vehicle registration sector in Uzbekistan.
For example, since April 2025, it has been possible to submit an online application for new vehicle registration through the unified interactive government services portal. This significantly reduces the time spent at registration departments.
