Uzbekistan imported foreign light vehicles worth $115.1 million in the first quarter of 2025, according to upl.uz.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 6,950 light vehicles were brought into the country from January to March. The largest supplier country is China, from which 5,235 cars were imported.
South Korea ranks second, supplying 1,425 cars. The shares of other countries are as follows: India – 144, Japan – 77, USA – 18. Additionally, 51 cars were imported from other countries.
These figures indicate that China is strengthening its position in Uzbekistan's automotive market, staying well ahead of other exporters.
For reference, in 2024, China became the world's largest car exporter, surpassing Japan. In Uzbekistan, Chinese brands like BYD and Chery are rapidly expanding in the market with modern technologies and affordable prices.
