BYD to launch new Seal 08 hybrid sedan in China
According to new documents presented by China's industry regulator, BYD is making serious preparations to launch a new hybrid sedan called Seal 08 in its home country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This model is expected to be offered to buyers in two versions. One of them is the front-wheel-drive DM-i variant, while the other is the all-wheel-drive DM-p version.
This new development is generating great interest among car enthusiasts and will serve to further strengthen the company's market position. Externally, the new hybrid sedan retains a design almost identical to the Seal 08 electric vehicle.
BYD specialists have recently focused special attention on individual elements. As a result, while preserving their distinctive smooth body lines, the vehicles have taken on a more aggressive and dynamic appearance.
It is also planned to install special lidar sensors at the front and rear of the new sedan. This technology will ensure the effective operation of advanced driver assistance intelligent systems.
The technical specifications of the vehicle are also quite impressive. The length of the Seal 08 model is 5,150 millimeters, the width is 1,999 millimeters, and the height is 1,505 millimeters.
The wheelbase is 3,030 millimeters. The weight of the vehicle, depending on the chosen configuration, may range from 2,145 to 2,270 kilograms.
So far, the manufacturer has not disclosed detailed information about either the hybrid or electric model's interior and the amenities within it. As for the powertrains, the total system power is 272 horsepower in the first version, and 544 horsepower in the second enhanced version.
Such a powerful system has previously been successfully used in one of the company's most prestigious crossover models. The Seal 08 model, running on electric power, is expected to cover a distance of about 1,000 kilometers on a single charge.
The most amazing thing is that thanks to ultra-fast charging technology, it will be possible to give the vehicle enough energy for 400 kilometers of travel in just five minutes. Although the release date of the new model has not yet been officially announced, experts estimate its price will range from 300,000 to 350,000 yuan.
It is also possible that the hybrid versions will be sold at a slightly lower price compared to the electric vehicle.
