A unique 40-day wedding tradition is preserved in Talassery

In the city of Talassery, there is a wedding tradition called Puyyapla Perukkal, in which the bride's mother prepares various dishes every day for 40 days for the new groom. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The bride's mother and other women prepare complex and delicious dishes daily, serving the groom. The dishes include bread, bananas, eggs, rice bread, beef and chicken, as well as traditional biryani.

Through simple customs, respect for the groom and family ties are further reinforced. Although this tradition is now preserved in fewer families, tourists have the opportunity to taste the dishes of the 40-day wedding program through restaurants and hotels.
