The IV International Sculpture Symposium "Samarkand-2025" has started in the city of Samarkand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This event is held within the framework of CITES CoP20, and its main goal is to promote ecological culture, develop international creative cooperation, and beautify the urban environment through art. For participation in this year's symposium, over 300 sketches were submitted by 150 sculptors from 73 countries.
Among them, 17 best works were selected. About 20 skilled masters from countries such as Oman, Iran, Turkey, China, India, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Japan, and Uzbekistan are creating sculptures from marble.
These artworks are planned to be installed later in parks in Samarkand and Tashkent. Special workshops and all necessary conditions have been organized for the participants in the "Jannat Makon" park in Samarkand.
Until December 7, master classes and meetings are planned to be held at the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Samarkand Tourism Academy. Additionally, participants of the CITES CoP20 event can observe the symposium processes and visit an exhibition dedicated to unique plant and animal species.
