Jim Carrey received the honorary "César" award in France

American actor Jim Carrey was awarded France's national film honor — the honorary "César". This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The award was presented to him by director Michel Gondry, with whom he worked on the film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". It is known that Carrey delivered his acceptance speech in French.
In his speech, he mentioned that his great-great-grandfather Mark-François Kerr had emigrated from the port of Saint-Malo in France to Canada, and that he himself later moved to Los Angeles. During his speech, Jim Carrey expressed gratitude to his father, Percy Joseph Kerr.
According to him, his father taught him to value love, generosity, and laughter. "If you want luck to smile upon you, first you must smile at it.
It is not easy, but you have to try. I will remember this moment for a lifetime.
I will always smile at it. My life is paradise," said the actor.
The honorary "César" award has previously been presented to representatives of the cinematic arts such as Julia Roberts, Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, Penélope Cruz, and George Clooney.
