Ozodbek Nazarbekov spoke about the tax obligations of artists

Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov clarified the debates that have arisen on social networks and in the mass media regarding his attitude toward the tax issues of artists. Zamin.uz reported this.
The Minister emphasized that discussions regarding the functioning of the tax system are being misinterpreted by the public. He also noted that the opinions of some artists on this matter indicate a lack of financial and legal knowledge.
Ozodbek Nazarbekov specifically emphasized that paying taxes is a legal obligation for every citizen, including creators. In his opinion, approaches regarding not paying taxes in society are absolutely wrong and unacceptable.
Since the development of the state and the improvement of social sectors are directly linked to tax revenues, no one can be above the law. The Minister explained that the main debates should not be about the necessity of paying taxes, but rather about their amount and the procedure for collection.
If there are shortcomings or ambiguities in the system, they can be discussed and improved within the framework of the law. However, completely refusing to pay taxes has no legal basis.
At the same time, Ozodbek Nazarbekov stated that currently, like representatives of all sectors, artists are ensuring tax payments in accordance with the requirements of current legislation. He emphasized that while measures are being taken by the state to support creators, these measures should not be a basis for waiving legal obligations.
