Uzbek filmmakers win top prize at international film festival in France

In recent years, under the direct attention of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, our country has been implementing breakthrough measures to elevate national cinema to a new level, comprehensively support talented young filmmakers, and create competitive products for the global market. As a result of such high regard and care from our state, representatives of Uzbek cinema are raising the name of our Motherland on influential international stages, bringing great pride and honor to our people. A vivid example of this is the short film Qadam, which defended the honor of our homeland at the recent influential international inclusive film festival in Cannes, France.
It is especially important to highlight that the film Yusuf, Son of the Sun won the prestigious Grand Prix award. This historic victory once again demonstrated to the whole world that our national cinematography is gaining strength and recognition on the international stage.
In order to properly honor this great and unforgettable achievement and to encourage the selfless labor of our compatriots, a Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted on rewarding young creators who achieved victory at international film festivals. Based on this document, a group of promising young filmmakers who demonstrated high skill in the international cinema arena and brought honor to our country were awarded the prestigious Future Builder medal of our state.
This state award is the highest honor bestowed upon young creators for their relentless search, diligent labor in the world of art, and unwavering devotion to their profession. At the same time, this recognition serves as a true source of strength and inspiration for thousands of talented boys and girls in our country.
