The US Congress has launched an investigation into suspicious trading in the futures markets.
The Committee on Oversight and Reform of the U.S. House of Representatives has sent official requests to the leaders of Kalshi and Polymarket companies, which operate in prediction markets. Zamin.uz reported this.

Committee Chairman James Comer demanded that the company leaders, Shane Klopp and Tarek Mansour, submit internal reports on the measures being taken against illegal trading on the platforms. This information is widely covered in international media sources.

The use of classified information related to government activities by selected traders to profit materially through various event predictions poses serious concerns. In particular, it has been determined that more than a dozen suspicious transactions were conducted on these platforms before the start of Iran's military operations.

According to James Comer, it is necessary to completely prohibit politicians with insider information from participating in and profiting from such bets. Among suspicious operations are contracts related to Israel's military actions against Iran, peace agreements expected to be announced by Donald Trump, and congressional election results.

While Polymarket representatives stated that they updated their methods to combat illegal trading in March of this year, Kalshi reported that it blocked three American politicians from betting on election results in April. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Justice has opened criminal cases against military personnel Gannon Ken Van Dyke, who profited more than forty thousand dollars on the Polymarket platform using classified information related to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

He is currently accused of fraud and using his position for personal gain. These cases once again demonstrate the need to ensure the integrity of government-level information and regulate prediction markets.
