Investments in high-tech companies since the 1980s have turned $1000 into millions of dollars today

Large technology companies that went public saw significant returns on a $1,000 investment made on their first day of trading, according to Zamin.uz.
Microsoft went public in 1986, with an initial price of $0.07 per share after adjusting for splits.
That means a $1,000 investment at the time would now be worth approximately $5.6 million.
Similarly, $1,000 invested in Nvidia shares in 1999 would be worth about $5 million today, the same amount invested in Apple in 1980 would be worth $2.9 million, and a $1,000 investment in Amazon’s 1997 IPO would now be worth $3.3 million.
A $1,000 investment in Tesla’s 2010 IPO would be worth $358,000 today, while the same amount invested in Google’s 2004 shares would be worth $175,000.
These figures are based on hypothetical scenarios.
No one could have known for certain during the IPO which companies would become market leaders, and many companies’ stocks do not experience such dramatic growth.
Therefore, while investing in technology companies can be profitable, it does not always yield the expected returns.
