
According to the press service of the Tashkent city police department, individuals distributing drugs have been arrested. This was reported by Upl.uz.
On July 19, 2024, an operation was conducted based on urgent information obtained by law enforcement agencies. During this operation, a citizen born in 1997 was detained in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent city.
He works as a security guard at a night club in the Chilonzor district. During his personal search, a total of 26 grams of synthetic drug – mephedrone was found in 37 packages.
Additionally, it was revealed that this individual had distributed another 11 grams of mephedrone in the entrance of a multi-apartment building. Furthermore, 3 grams of mephedrone were found in his car and confiscated.
At the same time, on July 21, 2024, another citizen born in 2004 was arrested in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent city. A total of 60 grams of hashish was found wrapped in 30 packages.
In both cases, a criminal case was initiated under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This article pertains to illegal production, purchase, storage, and other actions for the purpose of selling drugs.
A penalty of up to 20 years of imprisonment may be applied for this crime. Law enforcement agencies continue to fight against drug trafficking and ask citizens to report such cases.
