The senior assistant of the prosecutor of Jondor district, who demanded money from a farmer, was arrested in Bukhara region.
It is reported that in June 2024, a criminal case was initiated against the head of a farm specializing in cotton and grain production under Article 167 (embezzlement or misappropriation) part 2 "a" of the Criminal Code by the Jondor district prosecutor's office. This case was reviewed by the district court in November 2024, and the defendant was sentenced to 2 years of corrective labor with 20% of his monthly salary withheld.
However, the regional prosecutor's office filed a cassation protest against the court's decision, arguing that a heavier penalty should be imposed on the defendant.
The senior assistant of the Jondor district prosecutor, aware of the situation, demanded 3,000 US dollars from the head of the farm in exchange for leaving the judgment issued by the first instance court unchanged through the judge, initially receiving 500 dollars.
However, he was detained by the State Security Service and prosecutor's office officials with material evidence when he received the remaining 2,500 dollars in Bukhara city.
In a rapid operation conducted by the SSS employees in Urgench city, a senior investigator of the Investigation and Administrative Practice Department of the Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement in Khorezm region was also arrested.
He was caught while demanding 2,000 US dollars from a citizen living in Shovot district in exchange for facilitating his employment in the MIB system through authorized colleagues, having received 1,800 dollars of that amount.
Criminal cases have been initiated regarding the above-mentioned incidents, and investigations are currently underway.
