
The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok reported that on July 30, Uzbek citizens were not harmed by the strong earthquake that occurred in the Pacific region off the coast of Kamchatka, Russian Federation. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 8.7, with its epicenter located 161 kilometers east of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy at a depth of 32 kilometers. This earthquake is considered one of the strongest in the region since 1952.
According to seismologists, subsequent artificial waves, i.e., aftershocks, may continue for a month. A tsunami warning has been issued for the coastal areas of Kamchatka and Sakhalin regions.
The Consulate General advises Uzbek citizens in the Kamchatka and Sakhalin regions to maintain calm and strictly follow the instructions of local emergency services.
