The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has denied reports circulating in the media about an explosion in a gas pipeline in the Volgograd region. This was reported by Upl.uz.
In the official statement of the ministry, it was emphasized that there were no disruptions in the gas supply from Russia to the republic along the Central Asia - Center main gas pipeline. According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, the gas pipeline is operating in normal mode.
The Uzbek side confirmed by contacting the dispatch services of Kazakhstan and Russia that no damage was detected in the pipeline. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan also issued an official statement confirming the continuous supply of gas from its territory.
This situation arose in response to reports from some Ukrainian media about damage to the pipeline supplying gas to Russia's defense industry as a result of explosions that occurred on August 2. The Central Asia - Center gas pipeline system is a large-scale infrastructure built between 1960 and 1988.
It starts from gas fields in Turkmenistan and reaches Russia through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The control of the system belongs to Russia's Gazprom company.
This system is crucial for ensuring the energy security of Central Asia and Russia. Therefore, any information disseminated about its condition is worthy of serious attention, and it is especially necessary to obtain prompt and accurate information from official sources.
