A woman living in Tashkent has fully paid off alimony debt accumulated over nearly two years. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The financial obligations were fulfilled as a result of legal proceedings submitted to the court. Documents regarding the debt were enforced by the Mirzo Ulugbek district Enforcement Bureau based on a court decision.
According to the court ruling, the debtor mother was required to allocate one-fourth of her income to support her minor child. The debt covered the period from October 2023 to July 2025, and the total debt amount approached 24 million soms.
Due to prolonged failure to meet financial obligations, the Enforcement Bureau sent the case materials to the district criminal court. During this court process, the woman decided to fully repay the debt and resolved all disputes with the state and the claimant.
This case is one of the common examples in the practice of the Enforcement Bureau. According to official data, by mid-August 2025, there are over 348 thousand enforcement documents related to alimony collection across the republic.
This highlights the social and legal significance of alimony issues in the country as well as the burden on state bodies. In Uzbekistan, one of the measures to influence alimony debtors is the practice of temporarily banning them from traveling abroad.
This measure often encourages debtors to repay their debts and is applied by the Enforcement Bureau.
