An investigation is underway regarding the death of a four-year-old child in Tashkent city. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The child passed away on August 16 at city clinical infectious diseases hospital number 4. The deceased child's father stated publicly that his son died due to the negligence of the doctors.
According to him, the medical staff misdiagnosed the illness and did not provide the necessary assistance. The Tashkent city health department provided detailed information about this case.
According to their information, on August 15 at 08:30, the parents brought the child to the hospital with symptoms of vomiting, high fever, diarrhea, weakness, and abdominal pain. It was revealed that three other children in the family also developed similar symptoms, all of which appeared after consuming watermelon.
All three children were admitted to the hospital. Doctors initially diagnosed the child with severe intestinal infection, gastroenterocolitis form, with toxic-exicose complications of grade 1-2.
Blood tests were immediately taken from the patient, and necessary treatment against dehydration was started. Despite the treatment, the child's condition remained unstable.
Within the first day, the fever decreased, but vomiting and nausea continued. Fluids and antiemetic drugs were administered intravenously.
During the night from August 15 to 16, the child's condition sharply deteriorated, and he was urgently transferred to intensive care. Doctors performed resuscitation measures for 40 minutes, including clearing the airways and direct heart massage to save his life.
Unfortunately, all efforts were unsuccessful, and the child was declared dead at 02:30. The final diagnosis included aspiration syndrome in addition to intestinal infection.
The child's body was sent for forensic medical examination to confirm the exact cause of death. Currently, all circumstances of the incident are being thoroughly investigated.
Once the experts' conclusions and the investigation are completed, the precise results will be announced.
