As of January 1, 2025, the number of small enterprises and microfirms led by women in Uzbekistan amounted to 43,860. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This information was provided by the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The majority of these enterprises operate in sectors traditionally considered small business fields.
The distribution by sectors is as follows: - in the service sector – 17,239; - in the trade sector – 17,161; - in the industrial sector – 5,464; - in other sectors – 3,996. Thus, most women entrepreneurs choose the service and trade sectors for their activities.
Entry barriers in these sectors are usually low, and demand for services is consistently high. The net income from the sale of products of small enterprises and microfirms led by women amounted to 47.7 trillion soums.
This figure increased by 10.1 trillion soums compared to the same period last year. This indicates the growing economic activity of women entrepreneurs.
