Apple Pay and Google Pay officially launched in Uzbekistan

On October 27 in Uzbekistan, users were given the opportunity to link their bank cards to the Apple Pay and Google Pay payment systems. One.uz reports on this.
This change simplifies personal financial transactions and facilitates making payments without cash or plastic cards. Since the services have officially launched, users can activate their cards via their phones and use them immediately without visiting banks.
Apple Pay features Eight local banks and fintech services have been added to the Apple Wallet app. These include credit institutions such as Uzum, Kapitalbank, the National Bank of Uzbekistan, and TBC Bank.
Users can add their cards to their digital wallet and make contactless payments in stores, for online purchases, and on public transport. For security, each transaction is confirmed via Face ID, Touch ID, or a password, while card data is stored in encrypted form on the device.
Google Pay features Google announced the Google Pay service on October 19, but the linking of local bank cards was implemented starting October 27. Google Wallet enables contactless payments through Android smartphones and compatible smartwatches.
In addition, the app allows users to store tickets, travel passes, and other digital documents. Some features work depending on the device model and the bank's technical readiness.
